Ms. Bruning advises and counsels clients in the areas of arts, entertainment, and cultural property/heritage. Over the course of her career, Ms. Bruning has advised clients on matters relating to copyright, trademark, idea protection, publicity/privacy rights, and commercial production/distribution of works of visual and performing arts; live events; film; television; and digital game properties. She advises museums, art galleries and dealers, art collectors, artists, countries of origin, and indigenous groups on domestic and international issues relating to the acquisition, ownership, authenticity, import/export, lending, provenance, and restitution of works of art, antiquities, and cultural property. Ms. Bruning is also an assistant professor of arts and law at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where she has taught courses in arts, entertainment and archaeology law. She teaches summer courses on legal issues in entertainment, arts, and culture as an adjunct professor of law for Texas Wesleyan University as part of its Summer Away program in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
